1000 Mbps to MB

Your data transfer speed may be in terms of Mbps and your computer file be may in terms of MB. Mbps is short for megabits per second and MB is short for megabytes. Therefore, 1000 Mbps to MB is the same as 1000 megabits per second to megabytes.

Converting 1000 Mbps to MB will tell you how much of a MB you can transfer per second if your transfer rate is 1000 Mbps. Thus, we are really converting 1000 Mbps to MB/s where "s" is seconds.

There are one million bits in a megabit and it takes eight bits to make a byte. Furthermore, there are one million bytes in a megabyte. Here are the three steps to convert 1000 Mbps to MB:

Step 1) Convert megabits to bits: To convert 1000 megabits to bits, we multiply 1000 by one million.

1000 Mbps x 1000000
= 1000000000 bits

Step 2) Convert bits to bytes: To convert bits to bytes, we divide the bits we got above by 8.

1000000000 / 8
= 125000000 bytes

Step 3) Convert bytes to megabytes: To convert bytes to megabytes we divide the bytes we got above by one million:

125000000 / 1000000
= 125

1000 Mbps
= 125 MB
= 125 MB/s

This means that if your data transfer rate is 1000 Mbps, you can transfer 125 MB per second (MB/s). Note that this is the transfer rate under optimal conditions. Your actual result will probably be lower.
