Of Humans And Swine

by Richard Kovac

Those who oppose war and capital punishment, to be consistent in their respect for human life, should also oppose abortion. The point is that all human life is sacred because it is made in the image and likeness of divinity.

By the same token, those who oppose abortion should oppose, to be consistent, war and capita1 punishment, which are also inimical to human life.

It works both ways.

But to make the first point stronger, let me quote from a leaflet of National Right To Life: "An unborn child has less protection from feelinq pain than commercial livestock."

Human life is an end and not a means.

We must define humanity, and evolve it, as we go along. If we treat our unborn worse than swine, are we better than swine ourselves?
